Why is CP Solutions Hosting an Open House?
When letting us know they are planning on attending our upcoming house, several individuals have asked us about why we’re hosting it.
That’s entirely fair, and it got us thinking:
We’ve been in business since 2010 and this will be our first time hosting a community event. Those people can’t possibly be the only ones who want to know, “Why now?”
Well, we’re more than happy to share the various reasons why we’re doing this—and why we’re doing it specifically right now.
We just needed to figure out how best to let you know.
After giving the matter a little thought, we determined that a blog would be a great way to answer this for those of you who are curious about the event.

You won’t believe how much our office has grown—literally!
One rather instrumental reason for hosting our happy hour and open house is the fact we’ve just undergone a significant expansion to our headquarters in the historic Colonial Clock Building.
You can still find us in Suite 135—it’s just that there’s a whole lot more of the suite now.
Prior to our newest wing, we occupied two floors.
Once upon a time, that fit
While we’re a fairly close-knit group, everyone needs some personal space, right?
So, we got in touch with our landlord and said, “Hey, we need more room.” And they were like, “How about we build out the area underneath your existing suite for you?” And we were like, “Yeah, that’ll work.”
Hands shook. Walls were built. Cody was moved.
Now, this isn’t our first expansion. It’s crazy to think about how much bigger the office is now than when we first moved in. But we are opening a whole new floor!
2004 is saying that’s an even bigger deal than Ron Burgundy.
Accordingly, we thought this would be a great time to celebrate with our first-ever open house.
Full disclosure:
This might be our agency’s first open house, but we actually started to organize one a couple of years back to coincide with the holiday season. Unfortunately, we were pretty far along in our plans before realizing the date fell in the middle of the Feel the Zeel of Giving event in downtown Zeeland.
And we decided it was best to pull the plug on those plans.
Ugh, right?
But we learned from our mistake:
This time around we made sure to check both the Downtown Zeeland and West Coast Chamber of Commerce events calendars first!
Upon doing so, we were thrilled to see that our preferred date of September 19th didn’t have any potential conflicts.
Even better, we realized that our event was going to present a great opportunity … but we’ll get into that a bit more in just a moment.
To celebrate our office expansion in the most official way possible, our open house will include the
If you’ve never been to a ribbon cutting ceremony before, ours would be a great one to check out for a couple of reasons—such as enjoying a free drink (on us!), getting entered into a drawing for any of several fabulous prizes, and having the opportunity to mingle with fellow West Michigan professionals and expand your professional network.
About that, though:
While you are more than welcome to be there for the ribbon cutting, you don’t actually have to attend the ceremony if you want to stop by and socialize with local business leaders—and claim your complimentary beverage(s).
Please, feel free to stop by any time between 4-7 p.m. on the 19th, even if the ribbon’s already been cut!
Our local economy is growing!!
The reason we’re talking about this today is—as you might have heard—because we’re hosting a happy hour networking event on September 19 to celebrate our agency’s growth with our home community.
(Please feel free to stop by any time between 4-7 p.m. for complimentary drinks, food, the chance to win prizes, and an opportunity to connect with local businesspeople and leaders.)
While you’re at our open house, we want you to get the most out of it.
And that raises a pretty simple question:
How?
Well, let’s look into this and see how to network at an event—so it’s a valuable experience for you from a professional and business point-of-view.
Build your network…at a networking event!
As we noted earlier, something we learned when it comes to events like this: check and make sure there aren’t any major conflicts.
In doing our due diligence and checking the West Coast Chamber of Commerce calendar, we noticed that September didn’t already have any free, after-hours networking opportunities (as you can usually find the Chamber sponsoring during other months).
That meant hosting a happy hour/open house just makes sense as a way to give local
Granted, this WAS simply a coincidence.
Even so, networking is quite valuable for professionals. And it’s better when you can enjoy a complimentary beverage or two, right?

Speaking of those free beverages…
Tying in with that previous reason for hosting, we work hard and know that you do too.
So, we’re inclined to think all of our hard work should be rewarded with a little fun and relaxation, especially after we get over the “hump” of the week, you know?
As we thought about how we wanted to celebrate with our home community, we felt that it would be cool to just hang out and enjoy a drink or two. And then we figured you might appreciate it even more if we picked up the tab for it.
Accordingly, the “happy hour” component is yet another reason we wanted to host a community event like this.
Okay, that probably sounds good, but how is it going to work?
Well, simply stop at the front door; show your valid, state-issued ID (since we are NOT serving ANYONE under the age of 21!); and you will be issued your complimentary drink ticket, which you can redeem for a refreshing beverage.
Even better—RSVP today and you’re put on the VIP list!
You don’t have to RSVP to stop by and claim your drink ticket. But if you ARE on the VIP list, you will get a second free one as well (along with an extra entry to win prizes in the big drawing).
It’s entirely up to you whether or not you RSVP, but it really only takes a second and you do get the perks of being a VIP, so why not, right?
Save the date!
Between our agency’s physical and staff expansions, the opportunity to host a free networking event, and just being able to enjoy a beverage with fellow members of our West Michigan business community, there are plenty of reasons why we’re hosting this happy hour open house.
At the same time, there are plenty of reasons why you should think about joining us!
You can unwind after a hard day of work, enjoy a cold drink or two (on the house!), and possibly even win one of the really cool prizes from our special event drawing. More than that, being able to mingle and network in a relaxed, pressure-free environment can help you make some incredibly valuable professional connections.
As a final reminder, you don’t need to RSVP. The doors will be open
Hope to see you there!
